AJ8The amphitheatre of the Faculty of Philosophy in Tuzla hosted on Wednesday, April 15th 2015, the promotion of Prof. Dr Adnan Jahić’s newly published book “A Time of Challenges – Bosniaks in the First Half of the 20th Century”. The book was published by the Bosniak Community of the City of Zagreb and the Zagreb County. Co-publisher was the Ibn Sina Institute in Sarajevo. Naučnoistraživačkog instituta “Ibn Sina” u Sarajevu.


The promotion was hosted by the publisher and the History Department of the University of Tuzla, where author Jahić holds the position of associate professor. Promoters were Prof. Dr Šaćir Filandra, Prof. Dr Sead Selimović, Zlatko Hasanbegović, PhD, editor of the book, dipl. ing. Dževad Jogunčić, and author Prof. Dr Adnan Jahić. The fourth book of the Bosnian historian Adnan Jahić highlights different challenges which Bosniaks underwent in the first half of the 20th century.

The book shows the hard and uncertain path of the Bosniaks’ national, political, spiritual and cultural development, with an emphasis on major processes and turning points that are of immense importance. Jahić also shows the ways in which Bosnianks, mostly the ones in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reacted on the aforementioned processes from the annexation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1908 up to the establishment of the single-party communist regime in Yugoslavia after WWII.
